Ornate Obsidian Crystal Necklace
|
|
|
This beautiful piece of wearable poetry is truly a must for anyone who loves this wonderful poem by W.B. Yeats. The black obsidian stones which represent the dim and the dark of the night sky make a dramatic backdrop for the other elements of the piece.
The light and the half light are represented in the multi-toned twilight colours of the fluorite cubes. The star cubed crystal is reminiscent of the stars hanging in the night sky.
The eye is drawn down the piece to a centre piece upon which the celestial bodies are depicted, and from this centre piece is depended an elaborate wish box. The wish box houses some treasured objects, a blue star sapphire (the stars), a moonstone cabochon (the moon) and 3 cubic zirconium, as well as a tiny copy of the wonderful poem itself.
These objects can be gently tipped out into the hand and admired at any time.

A tiny Silver ring with footprints hung near the wish box is self explanatory.
"Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams."
This piece works well with any colour and is a real conversation piece, sure to be of interest to Yeats lovers everywhere. It's also very nice to know that this special piece was handmade a stones throw from where Yeats spent so much time and is now buried.

He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
"Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet, Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."
William Butler Yeats
